Every order that comes through this little web matters to me, and I want you to feel taken care of from the moment you check out to the moment your books land in your hands. Here's how shipping, returns, and everything in between actually works. If something isn't covered below, our Frequently Asked Questions page might have it, or just email me directly at info@sscarletsweb.com. I read every message.
Shipping
Orders are packed and shipped with care within 2 to 5 business days, and you'll get a tracking email as soon as your order ships. Shipping cost is calculated at checkout, and P.O. Box addresses can only be shipped via USPS. Delivery time depends on where you are; expedited shipping typically arrives within 2 business days. Every order ships to a single address, and larger orders may arrive in more than one package, so don't worry if it's not all together.
For my readers outside the US, you're responsible for shipping and duty charges, and delivery may take a little longer around national holidays. Thank you for your patience there.
As much as I wish I had control over every mile a package travels, once it's in the hands of the carrier, delays or damage are out of my reach. If a package doesn't arrive or shows up damaged, please file a claim directly with the carrier.
Media Mail shipments don't come with insurance coverage, and I'm not currently able to add it through our shipping setup. That means a lost or damaged Media Mail package can't be covered by a claim, and I want you to know that upfront.
Holiday Shipping
The holidays are a joy, but between UPS, USPS, and FedEx, they also bring delays that are simply out of our hands, so please place holiday orders early. Media Mail through USPS is our most affordable option, but it's also the slowest, so if you're using it for a holiday gift, plan for at least a month of lead time.
USPS deadlines, contiguous US: Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail, Saturday, December 16. Priority Mail, Monday, December 18. Priority Mail Express, Wednesday, December 20.

UPS deadlines for December 23 delivery: Ground, check ups.com/ctc for your area. 3 Day Select, December 19. 2nd Day Air, December 20 (December 21 with Saturday delivery). Next Day Air, December 21 (December 22 with Saturday delivery).
Order Cancellations & Charges
Every so often, an order gets flagged by our fraud protection team, or the checkout details don't quite match up, and it must be cancelled. Please know you're never charged for a cancelled order; any pending authorization hold clears within 1 to 7 business days. You might also notice more than one authorization on your card while an order is processing, that's completely normal and resolves once your order ships. Returns & Exchanges
If something isn't quite right, books returned within 14 calendar days of purchase, in new and resalable condition, are eligible for a full refund with a physical or email receipt. Past 14 days, or if the item isn't in resalable shape, I'm not able to offer a refund or exchange.
To start a return or exchange, email info@sscarletsweb.com first so we can set it up together; items sent back without a return request won't be accepted. Return and exchange shipping is at your own cost. For exchanges, the quickest path is to send back what you have, and once it arrives, we'll get your exchange sorted, including any price difference or added shipping.
Exceptions
A few items can't be returned or exchanged: damaged and clearance items, special orders, personalized items, mugs, and gift cards. If you're ever unsure whether your item qualifies, just ask, I'm happy to help you figure it out.
Damaged or Incorrect Items
Please look at your order as soon as it arrives. If something's defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, email me right away with a photo and a quick description so I can make it right.
Refunds
Once your return arrives, I'll take a look and let you know if it's approved. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method automatically, though it may take your bank a few extra days to post it on their end.
